Its a WRAP and It’s Helping Girls Stay in School!!

My sisterhood of the traveling scarf ( it can be seen in the last picture) and I had the opportunity to help this awesome organization make reusable pads for girls. This organization named WRAPS is renting a room in Uryadi’s Village, an orphanage, which I will talk about more extensively in later posts. It deserves all the attention it can get it. Back to WRAPS for now. These pads are sooo very important because they help girls stay in school. Simple as that.

Many girls in Ethiopia, and I am sure other countries as well, drop out of school early because they don’t have proper ways to deal with their menstrual cycle. They often stay home for a week every month, and later find it hard to get catch up in their classes. Wraps sells these extremely well sewn pads that they make in country to young girls in schools at a very low cost.

I plan to make these with the girls in my own town in the future. For now here are some awesome pictures of my girls. Send your love and good vibes.
